Tehran Defies Washington, Iranian President Vows No Surrender in New Delhi

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that his country will not surrender to foreign pressure, speaking on Friday in New Delhi ahead of the BRICS Summit. Pezeshkian emphasized that Tehran has successfully resisted aggression from the United States and Israel.

"Iran has successfully stood against Israel and the U.S.," said Pezeshkian while addressing Indian religious leaders. "Since we are seeking truth and justice, we will not yield in front of bullying arrogance."

The remarks arrived shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump defended military actions against Tehran. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the bilateral meeting to express deep concern regarding maritime safety and oil shipments through the critical Strait of Hormuz.

India currently imports nearly 85% of its energy needs and relies heavily on Middle Eastern supply routes. Ongoing conflict has severely disrupted shipping lanes, causing global crude prices to spike and endangering international seafarers.

BRICS member nations subsequently issued a unanimous joint declaration expressing deep concern over escalating Middle East tensions. Both Iran and the UAE participated in sidelines discussions, reaffirming the necessity of protecting civilian infrastructure.
