Trump Set To Fly on Qatari-Gifted Boeing 747 to Ireland, Despite Previous Security Concerns
President Donald Trump is set to fly on the controversial $400 million Boeing 747 gifted by the Qatari government when he visits Ireland next week. A senior White House official confirmed the upcoming transatlantic flight, which follows months of intense security scrutiny surrounding the aircraft.
The new plane previously made headlines on July 8 when Trump utilized a catering truck decoy in Turkey due to an apparent Iranian security threat. Despite those alarming vulnerabilities and subsequent maintenance periods, the administration maintains that the aircraft is fully equipped for executive travel.
'The new Air Force One is perfectly safe for the President's travels, but will receive additional upgrades and enhancements,' said former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in a previous statement regarding the plane's safety protocols.
Administration officials have consistently declined to disclose specific defensive modifications made to the aircraft. "We maintain a consistent posture that ensures a safe, secure, and reliable capability for the President of the United States," a senior official stated.
Trump is scheduled to touch down in Ireland to meet with local leadership and visit his golf resort in Doonbeg, County Clare. Federal records indicate the controversial jet will see significantly heavier usage as the presidential schedule ramps up for upcoming midterm campaign events.
